Getting attention

At one point not too long ago, you could figure out where a buyer worked and send them something to get their attention. Just for fun, here are a few things I’ve done or heard being done over the years to get a prospects attention.

  • Use the fax! Heard recently this tactic being done in the early 2000’s. Hey if there’s a fax number give it a try.
  • Mail them half a gift. Could be as small as a packet of seeds (and you visit them with the pot to grow them in), half of a $100 bill, or it could be half of a pair of electronics. Follow-up of course offering to bring them the other half is key!
  • FedEx an info packet. Marketing department is on the spot here to make your physical collateral engaging. The envelope makes it stand out, a must here is get them on the phone and get them to open it! Next thing you know you’re in the meeting by phone at least!
